GW's Mayberg Center Establishes New Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Jewish Education

The Mayberg Center for Jewish Education and Leadership at GW’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD) announced the launch of its new Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Jewish education. The program will begin Summer 2019, and interested students can apply by visiting the GW Student Portal.

The program is designed for Jewish day school educators, heads of departments, directors of congregational schools, or individuals starting their careers in Jewish education. The Mayberg Center invites interested candidates to apply for an intense and stimulating cohort learning experience in the nation’s capital. GSEHD faculty in collaboration with the Mayberg Center staff will prepare students to become teachers in formal classroom settings with an emphasis on teaching strategies, instructional techniques, and curriculum design for specific Jewish text-based disciplines.

Day school educators, philanthropists, academics, policy makers and parents participated in a unique dialogue aimed at "Connecting the Dots," which was the theme for JEIC's 6th annual Innovators Retreat.

Washington Jewish Week's coverage of JEIC hiring new Managing Director to Join Leadership Team

The Mayberg Foundation is pleased to announce that esteemed Jewish day school educator, Sharon Freundel, will join the Jewish Education Innovation Challenge (JEIC) leadership team as Managing Director effective July, 2018, and will begin transitioning into the role in February, 2018.  Sharon will work closely with Rabbi Shmuel Feld, who will serve as JEIC’s Founding Director. Together they will expand JEIC’s focus from stimulating development of dynamic educational models to include ongoing work with schools pursuing program integration and sustainable culture change.
