Strategic Grantmaking

Does your nonprofit proliferate Jewish wisdom and values in the contemporary world? We are always eager to work with impactful organizations and learn from innovative leaders. 

Each year, we review a number of new grant proposals from organizations through an intake process that starts with our New Partnership Questionnaire (NPQ), linked below. Please complete the NPQ if you would like to be included on our list of organizations focused on Jewish education or Jewish outreach for future funding consideration. While our mission is the proliferation of Jewish wisdom and values, we do maintain a small portfolio of chesed, humanitarian, and civic work.

Our approach to grantmaking is to treat our contributions as investments. We look for partnership opportunities that are aligned with our values, our vision and our mission. We strive for transformational engagement with our grantee clients, going deeper than transactional communications. Select grantee clients receive support beyond  financial resources –  we offer our Trustees’ and staff members’ talent, skills and expertise to build a more holistic relationship with the organizations we support and their work.

  • Strategic Support
    Our team has been working in the nonprofit and philanthropic sector for decades. We facilitate strategic discussions to explore ideas and solutions to maximize outcomes and effectiveness.

  • Driving Success
    As appropriate, we offer technical support to our grantee clients to help them improve their operations. We often advise and assist in various areas of nonprofit management and fundraising, helping organizations become more efficient in their work and fundraising.

  • Measuring Results
    We appreciate the value of data — both qualitative and quantitative — to assess the impact of our philanthropic-nonprofit partnership. When it comes to stewarding the resources we invest in nonprofits, there are three stages that we look at to understand whether an organization is set up for success:

    - Clarity of desired outcomes
    - Theory of change
    - Program and execution outcomes
