Who is like You, God, among the mighty?

Two thousand years ago, the Maccabean army issued this powerful call to arms to the Jewish people, to revolt against the unbridled hedonism and moral decay of the ruling Seleucid empire. Theirs was a culture, a way of life, that threatened both Jewish life and Jewish lives.

This Chanukah, the Jewish people are once again facing an existential threat.

It is only through the power of our unity and our continued commitment to foundational Judaism — faith in God, learning Torah, fulfilling mitzvot, and connecting to Israel — that we can continue to transform the darkness that surrounds us into the light of timeless Jewish wisdom and values.
